Former Super Eagles winger, Chinedu ‘Ogbuke’ Obasi (Edu) has declared that he is happy to be back at the club he calls ‘home,’ as he relishes a third career stop at AIK Stockholm of Sweden.
Sports247.ng reports that Obasi is excited with the reception he received by the club’s fans, officials and players, all of which he said have already boosted his zeal to shine with the team.
Obasi stated further that he is eagerly looking forward to the start of training with the squad and preparations for the new season, as he wants to start justifying their trust in having him back for a third stint.
Obasi, who started his career in Nigeria with Rangers International of Enugu, rejoins the Swedish Allsvenskan club in a deal that will run all through the ongoing season.
The 32-year-old star, who has also played for Lyn Oslo of Norway, TSG Hoffenheim and Schalke 04 of Germany, Shenzhen of China, Bolton Wanderers of England and IF Elfsborg of Sweden, returns to the team he last starred for in 2017.
Across two seasons at AIK, Obasi scored 12 goals and notched five assists in 20 games, all of which he believes he can replicate.
Obasi stated: ”It is always a pleasure to be back in AIK because it is home and I’m looking forward to performing in front of our amazing fans.
“I can’t wait to meet the team and everyone. I look forward to the preparation and the league.”
