Former Super Eagles lanky striker, Victor Okechukwu Agali and chairman of 36 Lion Football Club, Liameed Gafar would be among the invited guests that would grace the opening match of Oba Akran Cup scheduled to kick off 2 July at the Ibereko Barrack pitch, Badagry.
The chairman organising committee,Ibegbu Martin’s Osondu told Sports247.ng that the opening match would be watched by some important dignitaries invited for the competition.
“Aside Agali and chairman 36 Lion FC,we also invited the controller NIGERIAN custom service Seme border,, Bello Jibo and other community leaders in Badagry and it’s environs so the opening match is going to be an exciting one for the fans,”he said.
Osondu explained further that all the 64 teams have completed their registration forms and reminded some club owners to pay their registration fees on time before the draw ceremony.
Osondu added that the competition would be played among ten football pitches in Badagry and it’s environs and urged the participating teams to play the game according to the rules and regulations.
“We are in mood of Oba Akran Cup and I am happy that we got teams across the Lagos State.Let mee say Oba Akran Cup is not about teams in Badagry but we try as much as possible to accommodate teams from various part of Lagos.Our draw ceremony would hold on 25,June and I wish all the teams best of luck as they are preparing for Oba Akran Cup,”he concluded.
