AJ Soccer Academy forced Dream Stars to play 2-2 in the opening match of the Oba Akran Cup, the pulsating tie was held at the Nathaniel Idowu football pitch, Ajegunle.
Both teams entertained the fans with their football artistry before Raji Rilwan opened the goal scoring for Dream Stars in the early game.
The early goal spurred the Ajegunle boys to quickly convert a free Kick through Ezechukwu Ebuka in the 30th minute.
The second half was tense as both teams gave a good account of themselves. Joel Thomas got the second goal for Dream Stars but Richard Ego’s equalizer denied their opponent’s victory in the 72nd minute.
Reacting to the match, AJ soccer coach, Prince Solomon expressed disappointment over the result saying that his team deserved to win their game.
In his own comment, Dream Stars coach, Ismaila Ajayi said the game was tough but thanked God that his team got a draw at the end of the day.
Commenting on the match, a member of the Badagry Divisional Football Coaches Council, Michael Adebayo said he was satisfied with the standard of play by both teams and noted that the opening match lived up to expectations.
