John Niyi, assistant manager of Edo Queens FC, has given his reaction to his team’s loss against Nasarawa Amazons FC in the Nigeria Women Football League on Wednesday evening.
The Benin-based team suffered their first setback of the season, a 2-0 loss away to rivals Nasarawa Amazons. Niyi believes his side gave their all but were undone by costly mistakes which was capitalized upon by the hosts.
“We really tried our best. It’s football. You win some, draw some and lose some. Our players have not been disappointed because this is our first loss since the start of the season.
“The opponents gave a good fight. But they were lucky. The two goals we conceded were from errors. We were unlucky. It is their day. Our target at Edo Queens is still the same. We want to win the league and hopefully, we can achieve this goal at the end of the season.” he said.
