Bayelsa Queens, beat hard fighting Edo Queens 2-1, and her total six goals in three matches, has given the Girls from Bayelsa the 2021/2022 Season’s title hopes.
Gift, a player on loan from FC Robo Queens of Lagos, has been unstoppable in all the three matches she has played so far for the club.
Thursday’s brace in the match against Edo Queens, an effort that broke down the Betsy Obaseki Girls, who succeeded in scoring their first goal of the competition.
Monday Gift showed the stuff she is made of and her God’s given talent as she dribbled past the Edo Queens defenders to score the two goals in similar fashion in the 47th and 57th minutes.
Another loanee from FC Robo Queens of Lagos, just like Monday Gift, Esther Onyenezide, who played in the attacking midfield of Edo Queens in the 72nd minute fired a long range shot past Bayelsa Queens Camerounian goalkeeper and captain, Bawou Ange Gabrielle, to give Edo Queens’ their first goal of the competition.
Bayelsa Queens have now won all their three games played so far in the Super Six tournament courtesy of Monday Gift, to put Bayelsa inches away from the title.
Monday Gift scored the Queens winning goal in the first match against defending champions Rivers Angels and went on to score hattrick against Naija Ratels before her brace against Edo Queens making her the highest goalscorer and player of the tournament.
