She profusely thanked the commissioner of sports in Rivers State for throwing his weight behind the squad, and conceded that it is a big motivation for them to clinch the title.
The soft-spoken yet eloquent lass added that Friday’s 2-0 victory over Confluence Queens of Lokoja showed that Rivers Angels had recovered from their setback against Nasarawa Amazons of Lafia and they are now ready to wrap up the title versus Heartland Queens of Owerri.
Heading into Sunday’s game at the Nembe Stadium in Yenagoa, Rivers Angels are second on the table, just a point behind Edo Queens of Benin City, while Heartland are last, and Iloduba is upbeat about her team’s chances of clinching the title.
Iloduba began by reflecting on Friday’s victory over Confluence Queens, saying: “It wasn’t easy, but we give God all the glory.
“We thank God for the three points. We worked really hard to get this victory … especially after what happened in the last match.
“We knew that we had to get the three points. We needed more motivation for us to bounce back, and the commissioner of sports in Rivers State has really encouraged us.
“In fact, Rivers State government is doing really, well to make us happy. He promised us a lot. So, we had to go all out and get maximum three points. We are really grateful for all his support.
“Obviously, he gave us all the support we needed. So, we went there and got the job done.”
Iloduba concluded with a projection of her personal ambitions and stressed that winning the Super-6 on Sunday would be a massive boost for her personality and career.
“If we win the Super-6,” Iloduba enthused, “It would be a massive achievement for me personally. I’ve never been to Super 6, and this is my first time.
“So, crowning all the hard work over the past months and throughout the league, it would be a massive achievement, and I would be so grateful.”
