The Permanent Secretary of Edo State Sports Commission, Sabina Chikere has tasked the players of Edo Queens to do something extraordinary as they begin their campaign in the 2023 NWFL Super Six, holding in Asaba, the capital of Delta State.
The ‘Obaseki’ girls will tackle Confluence Queens on Wednesday, in what is their first game of the 2023 NWFL Super Six.
Chikere, while speaking to journalists on Tuesday, urged her girls to do something special, by going all the way to win the league title for the first time ever in the history of the club.
The soft-spoken Sports administrator believes Edo Queens have all, it takes to become champions and represent Nigeria at the CAF Women’s Champions League.
‘We’ve definitely grown a lot,’ she said.
‘We’ve grown a lot as a club and I think it’s the right time to sum it up with something that everyone in Edo State would be proud of.
The hardest step is to actually achieve it not just as a target. Aspiring to be the best team is where we have to aim and that determination is definitely felt around the place.’ I know all these are possible and that’s why I am tasking the girls to go all out and make us all proud.” She concluded.
Edo Queens will battle against Confluence Queens, in their first game of the 2023 Super Six Campaign at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, by 4pm on Wednesday.
