Edo Queens Football Club of Benin-City, will this evening by 4pm at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba Delta State lock horns with Confluence Queens of Lokoja in their first game of the ongoing Nigeria Women Football League NWFL, Super Six championship.
In the opening match played on Tuesday morning, Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt who finished third in Group A of the NWFL abridged league for 2022/23 season humbled FC Robo of Lagos State 2-0 to secure three maximum points. The match which was played under heavy rain had both teams displaying good football artistry, with FC Robo Queens missing a lot of scoring chances.
The second match was between the host state Delta Queens FC and Confluence Queens FC of Lokoja. It ended 3-1 in favour of Delta Queens.
In today’s encounter, defending Champions Bayelsa Queens will be up against FC Robo while in group B Edo Queens FC will tackle Confluence Queens of Lokoja time by 4Pm.
The coach Moses Aduku tutored girls from the ancient city of Benin, are mentally and physically ready for the cracker. It is a battle were Asaba football fans expect the managers , Moses Aduku, and Whyte Ogbonda, to show their coaching expertise.
Having done marvelously well in the league, Edo Queens, will be pushing very hard to ensure their vision and mission of coming to the Super Six is accomplished.
At the end of the Super Six, the winners will smile home with N10m, second N5m, while third place team will get N3m courtesy of the Host , the Delta State government.
