Mary Mamudu, top striker for Confluence Queens admitted that all odds are staked against them after they lost 2-0 on Wednesday to Bayelsa Queens.
Confluence Queens of Lokoja have declared a mission to snatch three points against Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt on Friday, when both sides clash for their fourth match of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super-6 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Rivers Angels are the in-form team of the ongoing contest at Samson Siasia Stadium, but Confluence Queens, who have lost two matches and won one, know Friday’s game is a must-win for them, hence their determination to pull off an upset.
However, while blaming the Lokoja-based side’s midfield for slack marking and inadequate supply of passes to the attackers, Mamudu enthused in an interview with Sports 247 that they should get back into the race with victory on Friday.
Mamudu further admitted that all the players must work hard in order to defeat the Garden City outfit, which she said is possible if they are determined to achieve it.
The outspoken lass declared, “I want to thank God, despite everything, because it’s not easy.
“We are trying; but I think we need to work on our midfield and our full backs. I think that is where we are having problems.
“Some of the players are trying in the midfield, but once anyone loses the marking, the opponents take over the midfield.
“I am an attacker, and I tried my best. In fact, all the attackers tried, but the passes did not flow from our midfield.
“All the same, we will try in the next game. We will come out strong, and I believe we will win the next match.”
