NWFL SUPER-6: Sabo Okala Praises Team’s Growth After Confluence Queens’ 2-0 Victory Over Heartland Queens

Coach Sabo Okala of Confluence Queens shared his insights and impressions following his team’s 2-0 triumph over Heartland Queens on Match day 2 of the NWFL Super-6 championship.

“My general impression about today’s game is that it was an exciting one. Despite our victory, I want to commend both teams.

Female football is growing with speed, and that is my satisfaction about the whole thing that transpired today,” Okala remarked, highlighting the positive development in women’s football.

The game was goalless at halftime, and when asked what he told his players during the break, Okala credited a tactical adjustment and motivational talk.

“At this junction, I want to thank God for inspiration and direction. Tactically, we had a game plan and we’ve been working on it.

Then, we found out that the goalkeeper was cutting off all the top balls and I decided let’s come on the ground and see how we could finish.

As the game progressed, one of our substitutes was able to convert the chance. It was just a pep talk,” he explained.

Regarding Confluence Queens’ chances of winning the title, Okala expressed unwavering confidence. “Yes, 150%. I don’t want to sound boastful with all due respect to all the teams that have come here.

They worked their way here. I know because of the first match so many people have written us off, but something transpired in that match and it was obvious today.

Those corrections were made, but we are going to give it all our best to see that we give it a good fight,” Okala affirmed.

The victory has reinvigorated Confluence Queens’ campaign, and Coach Okala’s strategic adjustments and unwavering belief in his team’s potential will be crucial as they continue to vie for the NWFL Super-6 title.
