Amarachukwu Onuorah of Edo Queens of Benin City has quickly turned her focus on the continental campaign after Edo Queens emerged as Nigerian Women Female League Super 6 champions on Sunday in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The Edo State-owned side kept hold of the top spot in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super-6 over the last two match days and fittingly got the title in a dramatic photo finish.

The feat came despite pressure from Bayelsa Queens, who locked horns with the new champions in one of the day’s last rounds of games that were played simultaneously.
Despite settling for a 1-1 draw in the highly explosive encounter, Edo Queens got the edge when Rivers Angels failed to silence last-placed Heartland Queens of Owerri.
At the end of it all, Edo Queens got their first NWFL title, and one of their key players, Amarachukwu Onuorah was lost for words when approached for her reaction afterwards.
Onuorah declared with several giggles and stutters, “I can’t even express myself right now. I am very, very, very happy. Like, I don’t even know how I’m feeling.
“What I know is, I give thanks to God. It’s been God from day one. I can’t even believe it. Like, it’s not easy.”
Onuorah then spoke about her satisfaction from Sunday’s feat and the next target she will face with her teammates.
“It means a lot to me because this is my first time in the premier league. I won the Sheroes Cup, I won the Obaseki Cup, now I’ve won the league.
“Do you know what it means? It means a lot to my football career. Now we are going continental. That’s our next focus, and our target is to win it,” Onuorah posited.
