NWFL SUPER-6: Adebisi Sadiat Mourns Another Defeat For Confluence Queens, Rates Herself 60%

Confluence Queens of Lokoja battler, Adebisi Sadiat has admitted that she is sad about her team’s loss to Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt in the Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL) Super-6 at Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Although the team from Kogi State put up a spirited battle in Friday’s game, a brace from Chiamaka Okwuchukwu in the 70th and 90th minutes spelt doom for them at Samson Siasia Stadium.

The result all but confirmed a road block for Confluence Queens, as far as winning this year’s Super-6 contest goes, and Adebisi confessed that the development made her sad.

Though she gave herself a 60% grading for her personal efforts with the team, the battling player reckoned that she had not done enough to save her side from defeat.

Adebisi asserted, “It makes me sad, losing this game. We even had chances more than them. It makes me sad, but we have no option but to go home and prepare well for the next game.

“I hope we will qualify for another Super-6 so that we can play better and prove ourselves.”

She went on to analyse her team’s woes, which she recalled were ignited by their massive slump to Edo Queens on the opening day of the competition.

“Our first game was the beginning of our problem,” Adebisi pointed out.
“We have two keepers, but one is in the under-17 national camp, and the second one does not have confidence in her. That’s what affected us in our first game.

“While we won the second game and we played well against Bayelsa in our third game, we still could not win.

“For this game today, we lost a lot of chances, and that was very bad for us.”
She ended with her personal rating and chided herself for not being able to bail her side out of troubled waters.

“I will rate myself not too bad. At least I’m trying my best, but I have to train more and try harder. My best is not enough.

“If it had been enough, there’s nothing bad in me also helping my team to win. So, I’ll rate myself like 60%. Not too bad…” Adebisi concluded.
