The Super 6 Championship, contested by the 6 top women club sides in the country, started earlier in the week but after the separation of the wheat from the Chaff, four teams, Confluence Queens, Rivers Angels, Bayelsa Queens and Delta Queens were left for supremacy battle going into the last day.
In a release from the Twitter handle of the NWFL, a total of 18 Million naira is at stake on Sunday.
“10 Million naira is going to the team that wins the final. The runner up will get 5 Million naira while the 3rd placed team goes home with 3 Million naira”, a statement signed by the NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi stated clearly.
“We thank the Delta State Government for approving the rewards but we are much more grateful for the hosting of the championship itself. The Delta State Sports Commission Chairman, Chief Tonobok Okowa and other members of the Commission have attended all the games from Day 1 and we just can’t express enough gratitude”, the Women Football Administrator revealed to this reporter via a telephone interview.
The COO ended the conversation by wishing all the teams well going into the final day while assuring that a spectacle awaits everyone at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, venue of the Super 6 Championship finale.
