The Secretariat of the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL has set a November 20, 2020 deadline for NWFL Premiership teams for Club Licensing/ Registration of players for the 2020/2021 season.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of the NWFL, Mrs. Faith Ben-Anuge: “the November 30 deadline is sacrosanct, as it would not be changed by the league board. This is to enable NWFL to commence the inspection of stadia facilities across the designated venues for 2020/2021 Premiership league games.”
Adding that, all the Premiership Clubs have been informed about these processes since March 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Mrs. Ben-Anuge noted in an official press statement signed in Abuja, stated that the inspection of designated league venues would start on November 13, and the Secretariat would be very strict on the provision of facilities especially as the league this season would be a straight one with more games in the last three years.
The NWFL Chief Operating Officer also used the opportunity to remind Club Owners and Chairmen whose teams are interested in participating in the upcoming 2020 NWFL Nationwide season, to indicate interest in writing to the NWFL Secretariat.
She stressed that all registration modalities and payments have been put on hold to enable the Secretariat to collate and ascertain the number of Clubs that will be participating.
“This is for speedy compliance,” Ben-Anuge said.
The 2020/21 NWFL Premiership season is expected is kick-off on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
