Adamawa Queens Dominate Delta Queens
Adamawa Queens delivered a statement performance at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe, cruising to a 3-0 victory over defending champions Delta Queens. Afensimi Omon was the star of the match, netting a hat-trick with goals in the 45+2nd, 60th, and 75th minutes.
“We knew this was a big game, and I’m happy to have contributed with three goals,” Omon said after the match. “The whole team played well, and this win gives us confidence moving forward.”
Rivers Angels Edge FC Robo in Six-Goal Thriller
In Port Harcourt, Rivers Angels continued their fine form with a 4-2 victory over FC Robo. Ifeoma Polinus opened the scoring in the 9th minute, but FC Robo’s Kemi Adegbuji responded four minutes later. Rivers Angels took control in the second half, with goals from Aminat Folarunsho (50’), an own goal by Fasilat Adeyemo (53’), and a Peace Effiong penalty (65’). Chidinma Ogbuchi pulled one back for FC Robo in the 78th minute, but it was too little too late.
“We showed our attacking strength today,” said Peace Effiong. “It’s a great win, and we want to keep this momentum going.”
Bayelsa Queens Crush Benue Queens in Lafia
Bayelsa Queens ran riot in Lafia, thrashing Benue Queens 5-1 to climb up the table. Chinwe Akabike (17’), Amblessed Ogbonnaya (20’, 47’), Vera Samuel (33’), and Rita Uduakabong (87’) all got on the scoresheet, with Anastasia Emefo scoring Benue Queens’ only goal from the penalty spot in the 54th minute.
“Our teamwork was fantastic today,” said Ogbonnaya, who scored twice. “We came here to win, and we executed our game plan perfectly.”
Elsewhere in the NWFL
Nasarawa Amazons edged Confluence Queens 1-0 in Anyigba, thanks to a 29th-minute strike from Shobowale Olusola.
Ekiti Queens secured a 2-0 home win over Dannaz Ladies, with goals from Seun Fakunle (36’) and Tobi Sarafa (55’).
Naija Ratels fought back to defeat Ibom Angels 2-1 in Abuja, with second-half goals from Glory Sunday (72’) and Tea-Bee Rita (83’) cancelling out Ugobest Osuji’s early strike (6’).
Edo Queens and Remo Stars Ladies played out a 1-1 draw in Benin City, with Esther Moses converting a penalty in first-half stoppage time (45+2’) before Olamide Bolaji equalized in the 50th minute.
Heartland Queens and Abia Angels settled for a goalless draw in Owerri.
