It’s always a beauty and a thing of joy seeing international players head back to their countries, city or childhood locality and so things that blesses the current children and inhabitants. What’s more interesting is seeing it come from players who haven’t gone international and such is the case of Naija Ratels Star, Ojo Oluwatofehinti.
Popularly called O’jay, the Naija Ratels striker has featured for her team in the Women’s top flight in Nigeria, the NWFL and she already began giving back to the society with her foundation “O’jay Foundation” Sports247 reports.
“At the moment, it’s basically to reach out to kids, help organize football programs to enable them express themselves, have fun and happy while giving little gifts to lift their spirits,” O’jay told Sports247.ng
“Being around my neighborhood kids, knowing that I play football, they tend to call me, asking me to join them and I see the excitement in them, hence I decided to take it up from there, give them a chance to enjoy and acquire skills as I give them little training,” she said.
O’jay is still a student in the University of Lagos, studying Electrical Electronics Engineering and she hopes to nurture talents that can go professional in years to come with her foundation.
“In the coming years, I hope to make positive impact among kids, help raise talents as they express themselves in these fun moments, help nurture as many as I can among those who want to go pro because the foundation will offer training to them to help them become better, provide kits as well to keep them in it,” O’jay concluded.
The first edition of the O’jay foundation event was held on the 20th of December, 2022 at CMS Grammar School, Ilaje, Bariga Lagos.
