The board and management of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) are deeply saddened by the passing of former goalkeeper Bidemi Aluko-Olaseni, who departed this world on Friday.

Aluko-Olaseni, who shone for several top clubs in the country’s women league, including Ekiti Babes, Sunshine Queens and Rivers Angels, passed away after an arduous eight-year battle with cancer.
During Aluko-Olaseni’s brief stint as a goalkeeper for the Falconets (Nigeria U20 women’s team), she showcased remarkable skills and unwavering determination to reach the highest level of her career.
Additionally, she featured prominently for several Nigeria Women Football League sides, where her impact was felt both on and off the pitch before her forced retirement from football in 2017.
