Rivers Angels forward Damilola Koku is excited at the progressive pace made by the NWFL board headed by Ms Aisha Falode.
She made her feelings known on Tuesday while marking her birthday at the Police College in Lagos.
The board has taken measured steps in making sure that players are secured mentally as they think seriously of life after football when they decide to hang their boots
” Conscious efforts has been made by the board in the time past as big players took time to share their experiences with female players” she stated.
The most important decisions the board has taken in terms of welfare is the freedom to move to a greener pasture if your present club owes you for three consecutive months
” The backing of the NWFL board in such a sensitive and serious issue is a thing of joy , the board has made the career endearing koku further explained.
Of recent is the clarion call in condemning rape by the board.
” As a police officer and an upholder of the law, every sane human being should frown and condemn such an evil act”.
The Girl child should be protected and I am happy to identify with a club like Rivers Angels football club where the Team Manager doubles as the Chairperson of the female club owners.
” Mrs Matilda Otuene has lived up to her billings , we have engaged in all manners of empowerment program organized by the club.
You can never remain the same as a Rivers Angels player”
Our Team manager cares for us in all aspects , she wants you to be a player , wife , mother and God fearing.
The combination of Ms Aisha Falode and Mrs Matilda Otuene heading these two bodies at the same time is a gift to the players of our generation she concluded.
