NWFL: FC Robo sets the pace as the first club to fulfil licencing regulations and registration ; Falode applauds the club

The board of the Nigeria Women Football League has applauded the proprietor of one of Nigeria’s Premiership clubs, FC Robo of Lagos, Emmanuel Osahon.

The Chairperson of the NWFL, Aisha Falode, at the weekend poured plaudits on the management of FC Robo for coming out as the first privately owned club in the country to complete the Club Licencing/Registration procedures ahead of the kick-off of the 2020/2021 Premiership season.

Falode, expressed her delight for the milestone achieved by the Emmanuel Osahon-led club, especially as they joined the list of elite women’s clubs in the Premiership league doing due diligence.
“It’s not easy running a league club privately. I really commend this gentleman.”

Falode added at the weekend that, what the management of FC Robo did, showed a marked improvement on what used to be their situation over the years. “They have succeeded in showing everyone that, they are a very serious club. I am happy for Osahon and the club. It’s a signal for great things to come for privately owned NWFL Premiership clubs in Nigeria. This also demonstrates, that the days when privately-owned clubs force the NWFL board to postpone the start of the season due to delay in club licencing and registration, is fast coming to an end.

“I think what Emmanuel Osahon just did was a clear indication of leading by example, especially as the Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Women Club Owners.”

She added that the action of FC Robo was a clear indication that the deadline of November 20, 2020, set for the Club Licencing and Registration for NWFL Premiership clubs, will be met and the league won’t experience any delay in the kick-off date which has been scheduled for December 9. More so, for a season whose format is the more tasking straight league, Falode noted.
