The secretary General of the Nigeria Women football League (NWFL), Emma Zira has stepped down with immediate effect following his conversation with the Acting Chairman.
In his resignation letter, it read “Since my ejection by the Governor, I no longer belong to any NWFL Premier or Professional League clubs, I no longer have the constituency or legal backing of the rules book to support my continuation in this position”
“I see my continued stay as the secretary General as manipulative and unfair of me, I can’t be seen to subvert the very principle for which I have strongly fought against the relevant authorities concerned for correction”.
Despite your overwhelming support which I can’t fail to appreciate, I relinquish my post for someone who has the constituency to occupy this elective position, to do what’s right in the interest of peace and continued development of the League”, he allayed.
“My conscience would not allow me live with it if I continue occupying this post because I see my action as not a reflection of Justice, true leadership and also advocating for a free and fair run of elections. Am so glad, it has been a great Journey and I seek for your understanding and support in my future pursuits”, Zira ended
