Following the intense clash between Delta Queens FC and FC Robo Queens in the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL), Assistant Coach Sunny Osunde shared his perspective on the match, expressing satisfaction despite the 1-1 draw.
Sunny Osunde maintained a positive outlook, stating, “I am not disappointed at all. The best thing under normal circumstances is either a win or a draw. And no team is a pushover. I want to make us understand that under normal circumstances if the game is too weak, we will find ourselves to blame. But I am saying this categorically, that the game is highly contested.”
Acknowledging the team’s performance, Osunde praised his players, saying, “We played a 1-1 draw. That’s what I’m saying. That we play a 1-1 draw does not mean I will not commend my girls. My girls. They did well. They put out very well. You don’t need to win a match before you conclude that your girls have played well under normal circumstances.”

Delving into the analysis of the game, Osunde recognized the inevitable lapses, stating, “Well, you see, there must be lapses under normal circumstances. And once the lapses come into play, all we need to do is try as much as possible to correct the lapses. Except which, of course, most people believe in, the God of soccer is against us.”
Highlighting the quality of the players in Delta Queens, Osunde emphasized that there are no pushovers in the team. Looking ahead, he outlined the team’s strategy, saying, “We are going to the drawing board to correct some of the mistakes, and I am assuring us that once the mistakes are corrected, we are going to pull out victoriously in our next match.”
As Delta Queens FC focuses on refining their game, Assistant Coach Sunny Osunde remains optimistic about future successes in the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL).
