The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Club Owners’ Chairmen/Team Managers Association has sent their warmest congratulations to the secretary general, Hajia Husseina Suleiman on her appointment as the chairman/chief executive officer of NWFL Premiership side and former Nigerian champions, Nasarawa Amazons.
Suleiman’s appointment as substantive top-shot of the Lafia side was confirmed on Thursday, October 29 by the government of Nasarawa state.
NWFL Club Owners’ chairman, Mrs. Matilda Otuene-Onyiloha described as timely and well-deserved the choice and appointment of the Lafia side strong woman as the chairman of the side.
“We heartily and warmly congratulate one of our own and secretary general of NWFL Club Owners’ in the person of Hajia Husseina Suleiman as the substantive chairman of Nasarawa Amazons Football Club of Lafia, Nasarawa state.
“The appointment of the amiable women football administrator is timely and well-deserved and further call to duty on her to continue the wonderful work she has been doing in the club.
“We are confident that she has what it takes to justify the confidence and trust the government of Nasarawa state reposed in her. She has been an achiever and goal-getter in her short stint as interim chairman and surely will be further inspired to do more for the club with her unmatched and undying love and passion for the team.
“We pray for God’s guidance, protection and strength as she moves to reposition the side to haul more glories for the ‘Victorious’ state,” said Otuene-Onyiloha.
Suleiman’s major assignment will be to get the side ready and prepared for the 2020/2021 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season as well as work hard to ensure the side win the coveted trophy and go ahead to represent the country at the maiden 2021 CAF Women’s Champions League competition.
