NWFL CHAMPIONSHIP 2024: Ibom Angels Pledge To Maul Chosen Generation, En Route To Picking Promotion Spot

Chosen Generation Female FC of Ogun State may be in for another heavy defeat on Monday at the ongoing Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship play-offs in Calabar.

This is a sequel to a no-holds-barred declaration by an assistant coach of Ibom Angels, Nyang Uko, who said his team will go for victory in their last match of Group B1.

Coach Uko further told sports247.ng after his side eked out a 2-1 win against fellow-former top-flight campaigners, Delta Babes of Asaba, that Ibom Angels will keep getting better in each subsequent game.

He admitted that Sunday’s match was tougher than what they faced the previous day, when they defeated Papa Soccer Angels of Lagos 3-0 at Saint Patrick College, Calabar, but disclosed that they won their second game with superior tactics.

Uko added, “We played against a good side, who have previously played in the premier league too.

“It was a tough game but, with the help of our tactical structure, ability and style of play that we used, we were able to dominate them.

“By the special grace of God, the girls did better than they did in our first match. We are improving and taking the games one step at a time.”

The assistant gaffer then projected into Monday’s clash with Chosen Generation and affirmed that maximum points will again be on the mind of everyone from the Uyo-based side, as they set sight on picking a promotion ticket in the semi-finals.

“We believe our next game will see us do even better than this.

“Delta Babes gave us a good fight, because they are better than our first opponent.

“I believe that, with this result, we are going to step higher in our next game. Nothing less than promotion. That’s our target,” Uko submitted.
