NWFL CHAMPIONSHIP 2024: Gallant Queens Target Promotion With ‘Warfare Approach,’ Coach Adebiyi Cherishes Second Straight Victory

Gallant Queens FC of Kaduna are firing on all cylinders, with two victories boosted by a ‘warfare approach,’ as they seek promotion to the top-flight Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL).

This was revealed by the team’s handler, Coach Adebiyi, who boasted of their chances, while speaking eloquently in a chat with sports247.ng and reslished their 2-0 spanking of local rivals, Kaduna Queens.

The victory at Saint Patrick College, Calabar put Gallant Queens firmly atop Group A2 in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship promotion play-offs, following a 2-1 surge over Wazbak International on matchday one.

The feat also encouraged Coach Adebiyi to talk tough, while enthusing about his side’s chances of picking one of two promotion slots from four groups at the ongoing competition in The Canaan City.

However, Coach Adebiyi also admitted that it is still early days, as he declared: “This is just the beginning. We haven’t even started anything, and we are still climbing the steps.”

The ebullient tactician went on to cite various factors that aided his side’s successful acquisition of six points from two matches, top of which he pinpointed as the team’s military setup.
“This is just the beginning, and we thank God for helping us.

“The experience we have is that almost all our players are personnel … as 85% of them are soldiers.

“We have a mixture of civilians and soldiers. So, we don’t have any option but to do well,” Adebiyi retorted.
He concluded with a verdict that the mixture of military discipline with civilian drive has spurred the club into a result-oriented squad.

“We always want to work with everybody. Let them get the results together. That’s why we brought civilians into the team.

“We know what to expect in the war front, and we take that mentality into all our matches.

“Sincerely speaking, we are ready for the promotion ticket. We are ready. We want to top the group.

“We know there’s still an obstacle in front of us, but I am sure that God will help us,” Coach Adebiyi concluded.
He will now aim to keep the 100% winning streak going when they battle Moje Queens in their last group match.
