Delta Babes of Asaba’s assistant coach, Gibbory Alfred Poto is still full of lamentations, despite his side’s 3-2 victory over Chosen Generation FC of Ogun State at the ongoing Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship in Calabar.
Coach Poto cut a sorry figure after the match, and the blunt tactician told sports247.ng categorically that he did not understand why his players failed to get into their right rhythm during the match.

Poto stated curtly, “I don’t know what my team is playing.
“Since this competition started, they have been playing off the line. I don’t know what is going on. I am confused.”
He cited as a reference the two goals scored by Chosen Generation during the game at Saint Patrick College, Calabar, and stressed that it was a clear indication that Delta Babes are struggling.
“Look at today’s match. We were almost going to draw. Just one minute to go. If that free kick had not come, we wouldn’t have scored.
“Three matches gone, and what we are looking at now is how not to face relegation. That’s what we are fighting against now.
“For today’s match, it’s God that made us win it,” Poto conceded.
He, however, expressed optimism for a better outing in their last group match, with a view that the squad will be worked on and spurred to consolidate on the gains of Tuesday’s victory.
“At least, we now have three points,” Poto reasoned, “We’ll try again in our next match to also win it. Then, we’ll have six points and be in the lead.
“We are already looking at our defence, because our defenders are poor. They are very poor in our defence.
“When we get to the camp, we will take care of them and adjust our defence before the next match.”
