NWFL 2025: Return To Lagos Excites Tumininu Adesina, Ratels’ Ace Relishes Scoring Against Robo Queens In 2-2 Draw

Naija Ratels FC of Abuja ace, Tumininu Fatimah Adesina says she was excited to score on her return to Lagos and that she was able to help her side snatch a shock 2-2 draw away to FC Robo Queens, sports247.ng reports.

Although her 30th minute goal from a penalty was not good enough to fetch victory for her side, as Rodiat Yusuf equalised for the hosts in the 68th, Adesina revealed that she took personal satisfaction from spoiling FC Robo’s fun.

She recalled previously losing several matches with her former club, Dream Stars of Lagos, against Emmanuel Osahon’s side, hence her delight that the table was turned against the team that produced Super Falcons’ sensation and six-time African Woman Footballer of The Year, Asisat Oshoala.

Adesina retorted, “It’s a joyful moment for me to score for my team. It’s also so exciting for me getting a point in Lagos. I’ve played for a Lagos club before, and I’m so happy to be back here.”

Tumininu then spoke about the personal motivation she had ahead of the matchday four encounter in the unfolding NWFL season, as she disclosed, “The only thing I’ll say is that I gingered myself; knowing that I was coming to Lagos to play against a very strong team.

“I knew that I had to stay focused in order to put in my best and to be victorious in the game. We could not win, but we thank God that we did not lose. This shows that Dream Star is different from Naija Ratels. So, I am very, very happy with this result.”

She concluded with a personal pledge to always put in her best any time she plays against Robo Queens, while also explaining why she is a defender who wears jersey number nine, and promised that Ratels, who have drawn three matches out of four, will soon start winning.

“Any day I play against Robo, I have it in mind to give my best. Even if I don’t score, I will surely give my 100%. I started my career from outside left, but I am now a defender who loves to score, and I wear jersey Number Nine to encourage me.

“My club now has three draws from four matches, but it’s not something we love doing. We don’t love to play draws, and we believe that, for our next game, we’ll come back stronger. We also want to reach the Super-6 because we never say die, and we never give up,” Adesina submitted.
