Edo Queens Football Club of Benin are battle ready as they play host to Adamawa Queens on Wednesday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin-City.
Edo Queens look confident to continue their unbeaten run as they host the visiting Adamawa Queens of Adamawa State whom they defeated in the first leg during the first stanza of the ongoing NWFL 2021/2022 premiership.
The coach Mathew Wemimo- led side would be happy to return to action after the mid- season break.
The Benin girls have worked seriously enough to secure victory in this epic game against the ladies from Adamawa state. And a win over Adamawa Queens FC in this match will push the Benin based girls to reignite their pursuit of a top spot in Group A.
With the atmosphere in the players camp, Edo Queens FC are not ready to let go the three maximum points, as they are confident of beating the visitors for the second time making sure they go back home with no point.
It an important game for Edo Queens FC as they will want to secure victory to celebrate the recent appointment of their Coordinator Mrs. Sabina Chikere as permanent secretary of the Edo State Sports Commission.
Though in football no team is a push over anymore but Adamawa Queens FC have not been so impressive since the beginning of the NWFL premiership new season.
Edo Queens humbled them 2-0 in their adopted home grouund at pantami Stadium in Gombe State during their first meeting this season.
In her comments Edo Queens Sleeky striker, Adaobi Okah, said: “I’m very happy that we are back to business after some few weeks break. This game is an important game for us, we are very confident of victory because the most important thing is the three maximum points. My coaches, teammates, the management and everyone here is playing good role to ensure that we win all our remaining games and top the group . We are all working hard and praying to God to crown our efforts with success in tomorrow’s match.”
Edo Queens are in Group A of the NWFL 2021/2022 premiership season and have played six matches, with 11goals. Plaid three away games with two victories and one draw, with four goals scored, 1conceded.
They have so far played three home games with 2 victories and one draw. A total of seven goals scored and three goals against.
Edo Queens are currently second on the table with 14 points while Nasarawa Amazons are top with 15 points.
