Ahead of their matchday 3 fixture against Pelican stars, Interim Head Coach of Osun Babes, Olayinka Adunola has assured fans that the Omoluabi Queens will fight to secure three points in the team’s first home game of the season.
Osun Babes had played two away games earlier winning one at Uyo against Ibom Angels and losing one in Lagos against FC Robo.
Adunola while speaking with Sports247 in a pre-match interview today guaranteed that the team is well prepared for the game against Pelican Stars tomorrow.
“We are fully prepared for the game being the first home game of the season. We are not expecting anything less than winning so that we can boost our standing on the table with another three points. Having played two away matches and getting three points, we want to make our standing on the table to be solid.”
Speaking on the lackluster defense in their last match that shipped in three goals, Adunola said everything has been put to order ahead of tomorrow’s game.
“If you watched the last game, the mistakes were from the midfield and not the defense and we have corrected all of the mistakes. Since the beginning of the week, we had been working the lines so tomorrow, there would be nothing like mistakes or blunders.”
Talking about recovering Christy Obia’s confidence after making a blunder that led to FC Robo’s second goal last week, the coach said the team’s psychologists have worked on that and the goalkeeper is rearing to go for the game tomorrow.
“Yes, we have worked on that. As a goalkeeper, once you lose confidence you start conceding goals, we have worked on that, she will be better tomorrow and have a good game too.”
Osun Babes sit currently eighth on the NWFL table with 3 points having scored twice and conceded three goals in two matches.
The team hosts Pelican Stars of Calabar behind closed doors at the Osogbo Township Stadium tomorrow by 4 pm.
