Dreamstar ladies who have lost their first three (3) opening game of the 2020/2021 NWFL season defeated Ibom Angels 3-2 in their match week 4 to mark their first win of the campaign.
Following the victory, Coach of Dreamstar Ladies, Anya Ugochi in a chat with Sports247 after the match commended the efforts of her players, as well as stating that her team needed to win the match, so as to ease the pressure of them, following the poor run of losses in the opening three (3) matches played so far in the league.
“We really needed to win this match, because this is our fourth game and we haven’t taken any point from the past three (3) matches. So there was a lot of pressure to me and the players, I had to ginger the players to ensure we come out victorious in the encounter,” she stated.
When being asked about how she encouraged and motivated the team, after three straight losses in the league so far, the amazing Coach admitted that it has not really been easy, most especially losses in 3 straight matches.
“Well, it has not really been easy so far for us, most especially losing 3 straight matches in the league, I just had to encourage and motivate them to ensure we win the game, because it’s not good to continually be losing and losing, at least you need to win or draw. Even though you lose, it shouldn’t be a constant thing, so that is why I encourage and motivated them and you can see, we came out victorious”, she added.
Anya Ugochi and her team will hope to build on the momentum of winning their match week 4 fixture against Ibom Angels, in their subsequent matches, as the League progresses.
