Nwakali Skips Porto Match To Process Visa In Abuja

FC Porto of Portugal midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali made a quick trip home to Nigeria at the weekend, in order to keep a date with the Portuguese embassy in Abuja.

Information reaching footballlive.ng reveals that Nwakali had to skip action with his club at the weekend, as he had to renew his Portugal residency permit in Abuja, thereby ruling him out action with Porto’s B-team on Saturday.

Nwakali missed the game alongside fellow-former Golden Eaglets star, Musa Yahaya, who had to make way for a number of first team players drafted in for rebuilding process with second string opportunities.

The senior players were involved with the B-squad of the directives of Porto’s main team gaffer, Sergio Conceicao, but they could only settle for a 1-1 draw against UD Oliveirense.

Conceicao asked the B-team coach to play some of the main squad’s players that had not been involved since the start of the season, and Yahaya was also affected by the decision.
