Super Eagles forward Anthony Nwakaeme has continued his rich form in front of goal in the Turkish League, scoring one and assisting another to inspire Trabzonspor to a 2-1 win over Yeni Melatyaspor.
Nwakaeme has scored in his side’s four previous matches, the attacker was made his 20th league start as he produced yet another man of the match display to solidify Trabzonspor’s grip on the fourth spot.
Omer Sismanoglu put the hosts ahead after 22 minutes before Nwakaeme equalised nine minutes later after being set up by Abdulkadir Parmak for 1-1 as both sides went into the break level.
With the momentum now in their favour, the host brought on top scorer Hugo Rodallega after the hour mark before the Colombian combined well with Nwakaeme 11 minutes from time to net Trabzonspor’s second to win the clash 2-1.
Nwakaeme now has 17 league goals this term for Trabzonspor (10 goals, 7 assists) as they remain in the fourth position with 52 points with five games remaining in the campaign.
