Versatile defender Chris Nwaeze has completed a one-year loan move to Plateau United after leaving Akwa United at the end of the 2021/2022 NPFL season.
Nwaaze has in the last three years been one of the best central defenders in the NPFL after getting his breakthrough at Kwara United.
Confirming Nwaeze’s move to Plateau United is his agent, Muritala Raji, who stated clearly that he wants the former Crown FC star to move to Europe from the Jos based side.
“I can confirm to you that Chris Nwaeze will play for Plateau United in the coming season most especially in their campaign in the Champions League and it’s something I’m happy with,” Muritala Raji Mohammed disclosed to Journalist Ibitoye Shittu.
Chris Nwaeze who scored for the Super Eagles Team B against AS Roma Academy in friendly game expressed happiness on his move to Plateau United claiming that he is ready to help them succeed in the CAF Champions League.
The strong defender added that his target is to move into the main Super Eagles and challenge Ekong in the central position.
“I am happy with my move to Plateau United and also my call-up to the Super Eagles Team B and looking forward to our game against Ghana which we must win. Thanks to Coach Salisu and other coaching crew for the chance given to him.
“I am going to Plateau United to help them in all competitions and I will also work hard to move into the main Super Eagles and challenge Ekong.” Chris explained.
Chris Nwaeze started his football career on the streets of Kaduna from where he moved to Kaduna United, Crown FC, Kwara United, Akwa United and now Plateau United.
