FC Ifeanyiubah of Nnewi striker, Solomon Nsude is keeping under-23 national team coach, Imama Amapakabo guessing over his whereabouts, as the forward is the only invitee that is yet to report to camp.
However, sports247.ng gathered that Nsude is outside Nigeria, haven apparently gone for trials abroad, which puts him in doubt for a shirt with Amapakabo’s squad in next month’s U23 AFCON qualifiers versus Libya.
Incidentally, Nsude’s invitation by Amapakabo comes seven years after he gained his first national team call-up, when he was listed for the under-15 squad, Baby Eagles in 2012.
Nsude joined 40 other invitees at the camp in preparation for an under-15 eight nation invitational tournament in Mexico, with Golden Eaglets coaches, headed by Manu Garba, in charge of the screening.
A year later, Nsude emerged highest goals scorer at the third edition of Ike-Oha U-18 Unity Football Championship in Enugu and won the cup with Udi Local Government Area.
The lad from Imo State scored one of the goals in his side’s 2-0 win over Aninri LGA at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, in the presence of the sponsor, Senator Ike Ekweremadu.
With two other senators, Ayogu Eze and Hope Uzodinma also watching, the Udi lads, who were runners-up in the previous two editions, got the lead with a sublime strike from Alex Onyia in the 38th minute of play.
Nsude then made it two for the lads from Udi as he dribbled his way through a sea of legs to score 10 minutes into the second half, as the youngster continued showing his immense potentials.
However, critical comments trailed his inclusion in Amapakabo’s list of invitees for ‘Dream Team 7,’ as a section of the Nigerian sporting media argued that Nsude was yet to play a single match for FC Ifeanyiubah.
However, all that might not turn into a mute point, as the lad, who had a short stint with Remo Stars of Ikenne, may not even honour the national team call by Amapakabo, with his eyes now set on a deal overseas.
