Team Lagos has won three silver and one bronze medals in Poomsae event decided on Friday at the Games’s multi purpose hall inside the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba Delta State
In the Poomsae individual female event, Ditu Beauty, won a silver while the duo of Ditu Beauty and Roqeeb Arowora won a silver medal in Pair team event just as the trio of Ditu Beauty, Adetilewa Owodunni and Abdulsalam Mariam won a silver medal in Team female event.
Team Lagos, also won a bronze medal, in the Team male event through the trio of Roqeeb Arowora, Ibrahim Idris and Samuel Akande.
The coach of Lagos State Taekwondo Association, Master Dele Kazeem, who is satisfied with the athletes performances, said the association was expecting four gold medals in sparring event from.the quartet of Peju Adebanjo, Abdul lateef Arinola,who won a gold medal at last year’s National Sports Festival in Edo State and Ridwan Amusa.
Kazeem, said the association would not relent in its efforts to sustain its dominance in the sports, stressing that Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, Kano, Katsina, Rivers and Anambra States were among.the best States in Taekwondo that would give Lagos State a tougher opposition.
The association, according to him, presented fourteen Taekwondoists who will competing in twenty events
