Discussions centered on unlocking the potential of the sports economy in line with the RHINES program and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
A key highlight of the meeting was the confirmation of NCS’s readiness to host the 2025 African Women Volleyball Interclubs Championship, scheduled for April.
Nigeria secured the hosting rights over Egypt, Morocco, and Tanzania, with the tournament set to take place at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
The NSC has pledged full support for the event, which aligns with its vision of positioning Nigeria as a hub for international sports competitions.
In addition to hosting the championship, the NCS reiterated its commitment to supporting the NSC’s programs as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
These include the donation of buses to aid sports federations, facilitating athlete mobility, and improving operational efficiency.
To ensure the success of this partnership, both agencies will establish a joint technical and project delivery team. This collaboration underscores the critical role of the NCS in driving sports development in Nigeria.
The NSC also commended Bashir Adewale Adeniyi for his leadership, which resulted in record-breaking revenue generation for Nigeria in 2024, significantly bolstering the nation’s economic growth.
This partnership represents a significant step forward for Nigerian sports, with the potential to foster long-term development and success in the sector.
