The National Sports Commission (NSC) has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team on their impressive qualification for the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) following a dominant 3-1 victory over Ghana’s Black Galaxies at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Hon. Bukola Olopade, Director General of the NSC, who attended the electrifying match, commended the team for their exceptional performance and pledged the Commission’s unwavering support ahead of the CHAN 2025 tournament.
“This victory is a testament to the talents we have as a nation, home and abroad,” Olopade said after the match. “The NSC remains committed to ensuring that the team receives all necessary resources and support to excel not only at CHAN but in all future competitions. This win is a stepping stone toward building a thriving sports ecosystem that will inspire future generations.”
The Super Eagles B dazzled fans with an extraordinary first-half performance, with Ismaila Sodiq opening the scoring in the 18th minute.
Nduka Junior added a second just three minutes later, while Saviour Isaac made it three in the 25th minute. Although Ghana’s Stephen Amenkona netted a consolation goal in the second half, Nigeria held firm to secure an aggregate 3-1 victory.
The NSC sees the team’s success as a reflection of its commitment to nurturing homegrown talents and fostering a robust sports structure.
The 2025 CHAN tournament, set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from February 1 to 28, presents a significant opportunity for the team to showcase their skills on the continental stage.
