The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) is gearing up to reveal the ultimate squad that will represent the nation at the forthcoming African Games in Ghana.
Following rigorous training sessions spanning nine days in Abuja, the men’s and women’s teams, affectionately known as the Black and Lady Stallions respectively, are on the brink of finalizing their rosters.

Under the astute leadership of head coach Steve Lewis and the support of General Manager Azeez Ladipo along with technical assistants Uwangue Michael Johnson, AbdulKareem Sulyman Angulu, and Mohammed Salisu, the squads have been honing their skills and strategies to excel on the continental stage.
The selected players, predominantly sourced from the domestic league but infused with international talent, are primed to vie against other African powerhouses with aspirations of clinching a podium finish for Nigeria.
The initial roster will undergo a meticulous pruning process, ultimately culminating in 15 players each for the male (Black Stallions) and female (Lady Stallions) teams before embarking on their journey to Ghana.
Among the standout male contenders are Ladipo Azeez Olaitan, Jatto Onoru-Oyiza Jude, Etim Gabriel John, and Abrakson Jude Peter, who have exhibited exceptional prowess in the domestic league and are eager to showcase their skills on the continental stage.
Meanwhile, the female roster boasts formidable talents such as Maduchem Felix Precious Chinonyerem, Akihiero Vera EhiaKhaye, and Mene Augustar Efe, poised to make a significant impact in Ghana.
In addition to unveiling the final squad, the NRFF will provide insights into the team’s strategic approach and aspirations for the African Games, setting the stage for an exhilarating showcase of rugby prowess in Ghana and beyond.
