Ikorodu City produced a brilliant performance to defeat Kano Pillars 4-1 in a dominant NPFL Matchday 21 encounter, with standout contributions from Shola Adelani, Harrison Austin, and Ayomide Cole.

The victory propelled Ikorodu City into the top five, as they continue to push for a strong finish this season.
The Oga Boys wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Shola Adelani opening the scoring in the 3rd minute. A precise near-post header from a well-delivered Salau Yusuf corner gave Ikorodu City the early lead.
The pressure from Ikorodu City kept building, and in the 20th minute, Harrison Austin unleashed a sensational long-range strike that left the goalkeeper with no chance, assisted once again by Yusuf.
Despite a response from Kano Pillars in the 37th minute to make it 2-1, Ikorodu City’s attacking firepower was too much. In the second half, a corner kick from Harrison Austin was accidentally turned into his own net by Rabiu Ali of Kano Pillars in the 54th minute, extending the home side’s lead to 3-1.
Ayomide Cole, always a danger from the bench, made an instant impact, scoring in the 73rd minute after another pinpoint assist from Yusuf. The match ended 4-1, securing all three points for Ikorodu City.
Substitutions saw academy striker Malik Musa make his professional debut, and fellow newcomer Victor Ekujah also joined the action, further boosting the team’s morale as they maintained their commanding position on the pitch.
With this emphatic win, Ikorodu City look to build momentum as they chase higher honors in the NPFL, while Kano Pillars will have to regroup after a tough defeat.
