Following some upsetting results on match day 7, some clubs will be looking to build on the winning momentum while others will want to rise from the defeat.
Experiencing their first loss of the season to Heartland of Owerri, league leaders Plateau United will be hoping to start winning again when they host FC Ifeanyi Ubah on match day 8. Abdu Maikaba’s men still lead the NPFL standings despite last week’s defeat but have to pick up again to remain on top while the guests on the other hand fresh from defeating third placed Wikki Tourists will want to continue on the winning form.
Another mouthwatering match on the match day will be MFM FC taking on Akwa United at the Soccer Temple in Lagos. Rejuvenated Akwa United winning their first game of the season will want to pick point on the road to complement the recent winning form.
Meanwhile, MFM are yet to win a game at home this season and have dropped in form after starting brightly.
Kano pillars visit winless Nassarawa United after that demolishing of Delta Force last weekend. Since the return of Captain Rabiu Ali, Pillars look re-energized and are undefeated in three games. The Solid Miners however are rock bottom on the log and have remained winless in 7 matches.
With just 2 points separating them, Lobi Stars will look horns with Abia Warriors in Makurdi. The hosts currently siting 5th on the log will be hoping Sikiru Alimi who has three goals get his scoring boots for the clash while Abia warriors will also hope Jimoh Oni gets his scoring boots after netting three goals already this season as both players go head to head.
Wikki Tourists will play Enugu Rangers on Saturday in Bauchi by 4pm while other matches go down on Sunday at their respective centers by 4pm.
