The Matchday 2 of the NPFL recorded an exciting draw between MFM FC and FCIU at the Soccer Temple Agege.
Having previously won on numerous occasion against their opponent, the Olukoya Boys were held to a shocking draw at their home ground.
Despite coming to the match with a victory on Matchday 1 against their former coach, that wasn’t enough as they had to settle for a point with Ifeanyi’s new look, young side.
Both teams played out an entertaining 1-1 at halftime of the game after Ifeanyi Ubah’s side went ahead in the early part of the game leaving MFM to trail behind, parity was restored before the break to set the match even.
Lucius, who just signed for the Nigerian Premier League outfit has described the result as a very positive sign of good things to come for his team.
“This is my first season in the NPFL and Ifeanyi Ubah has given me this opportunity, in the starting line up against a tough opponent like MFM, this is a performance I will keep with me”, he said.
“I feel so good and would have loved if we took all 3 points but unfortunately we have to settle for a draw having scored first”.
“The Coach had a game plan, it was effective and it was so obvious for all to see”.
“We are leaving this place with a lot of confidence unto the next match”, Lucius concluded.
