Remo Stars coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has explained the tactical changes he made ahead of his side’s 3-0 win over Sunshine Stars in the NPFL on Sunday.
Seun Ogunribide opened the scoring in the 40th minute for the home side before Andy Okpe netted twice in the second half to complete the win.
Ogunbote explained what he got right against his former employers. He said: “It is a massive win for us. We played as a team. I told my boys that it would be the first time I would be playing against them [Sunshine Stars] and that I would be glad if they represent me very well. It was a bonus for me.
“We analyzed before the start that we needed stability in the game. And we felt those are the players that would give us the stability and a lead in the game in the first half.
“We got the lead in the first half so by the time Andy was coming on it was strange to them. And he made an impact.”
The result took Remo Stars to third position on the league table. They will face Niger Tornadoes on Sunday for their next league game.
