The youngest NPFL technical crew, Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu spoke with sports247.ng immediately after the second match of Governor wike unity cup in Port-Harcourt about his team’s preparation ahead of new NPFL Season.
He said, “Though this was a pre-season game, to me it is a poor result and outcome for us.”
Coach Ilechukwu was however better pleased with the display in the second match which he said was an improvement on the first game.
On the task of rebuilding a formidable team which he and his team’s are faced with.
The MFM Boss said, “A team that lost eight starting players will never find it easy but we are aware of this and are working towards improving of which I am certain the team would be ready for the new season.
He also praised the quality of the Heartland team accepting that they were the better team in the first half.
Fidelis Ilechukwu concluded by backing his player to be at their best when the NPFL season kicks off if they continue to improve and give their best during the preseason.
