After a hundred percent win start in two games in the Nigerian Professional Football League this season, Remo Stars and fans alike thought it was going to be business as usual but visiting Nasarawa United gave them something to think about in Ikenne as both teams shared the points.
In what was a goalless affair but not one lacking in moments that could have led to a goal, coach of Remo Stars Gbenga Ogunbote “the Oracle” told Sports247 about how pleased he was to have a game like this.
“It’s a tough match. Today’s game has welcomed us to the elite league,” the Oracle said. “I am happy this happened early enough so that we can see the bitter aspect of the league.
Speaking on the result not going his way, the coach put some of the blame on lack of clinical ability in front of goal while also praising the officials for a good job.
“I wouldn’t want to blame my wards, but to be frank, we lost the game in the first half because we wasted a lot of chances. Nasarawa United came with a game plan that worked for them. But we will continue to learn match by match to see how we can handle a lot of situations,” Gbenga stated
“I am impressed with the officiating, and I hope it continues this way,” he concluded.
