Abel expressed his acceptance of the result, stating, “That’s football, you lose some, you win some.” He praised his team’s adherence to their training and instructions, despite the loss. However, he acknowledged that even with perfect training, mistakes are inevitable.
The first goal conceded was attributed to an indecision from the goalkeeper, which Rivers United capitalized on. Abel noted, “He stands there and Rivers United take advantage of it, and they score.” He emphasized that the team would work on these issues to avoid similar situations in the future.
Reflecting on the team’s recent games, Abel admitted that they haven’t been going as planned. Once contenders for the title, Plateau United is now focused on gathering results to regain their previous standing. Abel identified defensive errors as the primary issue in the match against Rivers United, particularly a misunderstanding about an offside that led to a goal.
Despite the loss, Abel remains optimistic about the team’s potential. He said, “Our last match, I think we did very well and we’re hoping that when we come here, at least we get a point or win.” He acknowledged that Rivers United played better in the match and commended the referee’s officiating.
As Plateau United looks ahead, Abel’s focus is on learning from this defeat and preparing for future matches. His goal is clear: to avoid past mistakes and strive for better results in the upcoming games.
