Administrative mainstay, Honourable Akin Akinbobola remains upbeat in Sunshine Stars’ 2020/21 NPFL season survival quest.
Akinbobola expressed the belief while deliberating with the technical crew and backroom staff of the Owena Whales at Flourish Hotel, Alagbaka Akure, Tuesday.
The former member, Nigeria Premier League (now NPFL) board, during the meeting opined that with hard work and unity of purpose the team will come out top in the relegation fight.
“Let’s have it at the back of our mind that with hard work and unity we will get it right in the end. Now all stakeholders’ hands must be on the plow as it is not an individual thing.
“I praise coach Deji Ayeni for gradually instilling the belief in the boys. The effort are beginning to bear fruits and we should build on this. We are going to Kwara with the can-do spirit.” Akinbobola charged.
The Owena Whales continued their march towards safety with a vital 2-1 win over visiting Abia Warriors on Sunday and are confident of another positive result in the matchday 29 meeting with Kwara United in Ilorin.
