Maurice Chigogzie’s goal in the stoppage time via a penalty kick earned a vital away point for Gombe United in their #NPFL19 Match Day 9 clash with the Naze Millionaires at the Okigwe stadium.
Heartland took the lead in the thirty two minutes of play through Chidebere Ajoku who nodded Uche Oguchi’s superb cross from the left .
From then ,the hosts continued to control the pace of the game and in the process missed plethora of chances and Ibrahim Isiyaku from Kogi state signalled the end of the first stanza.
The Savannah Scorpions came into the second half more rejuvenated with Adamu Mohammed and Usman Musa very unlucky to register their names on the scorer’s chat .
While Gombe United pushed for an equaliser, the hosts continued to attack especially from the wings which forced the away defence committed some costly mistakes.
And there came the deciding moment in the 87′ when Michael Uche swept down Joseph Onoja inside the box as he attempted to clear the ball from danger zone and the referee pointed to the spot kick .
Uche was on the stretcher as he got injured while Onoja received treatment , before Maurice Chigogzie stepped forward and converted the spot kick as sent GK Ejiogu to the wrong direction.
