Sunshine Stars captain, Abe Sunday has bemoaned his side loss in the opening game of the NPFL Playoff game at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena but backed his team to come back stronger.
Defending champions, Rivers United picked the only win of the opening day fixtures following a nervy 1-0 win against Sunshine Stars to send them top of the log.
Sunday allayed that his side gave a good fight to Rivers United but we’re unlucky not to get a favorable result.
“We played well, we did our best and gave our all but football is either you win, lose or draw but right now, we will go back to the drawing board to make sure we prepare well for the next game,” he stated in his post match interview with Sports247.ng.
“This defeat won’t have effect on us going into the subsequent games, we still have three more games to play and we are not out of the Super Six yet, so there’s all there’s to play for.”
“Our target is to win and emerge champions but we will keep on pushing every match until we get there and also get a continental spot,” he assured.
