Former flying eagles coach John Sam Obuh has stated that the delay in starting the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League is hindering him from getting a job as a coach in the league.
Obuh’s last employment with a league club was with Kwara United in the 2017/2018 season after helping the team gain promotion to the top flight but was fired from his appointment when the team failed to get positive results.
The veteran coach has also stated that the ongoing crisis between the NNL and NPFL chieftains will most definitely affect the development of football in the country negatively if care is not taken as many players and officials who depend on the league to survive are already been affected.
Obuh has urged the managers of the league to quickly resolve their differences so that the new season can begin.
“I think the league not starting is really affecting lots of people whose livelihood depend on the league from players, to coaches to even the stadium managers and if the league is not on these people will have nothing doing.
I think it is high time the organizers of this league sit at a round table and resolve these issues so that the league can start and our football should move forward.”
