Rafael Everton thought his Akwa United side were ‘phenomenal’ despite being forced to a 1-1 draw by Kano Pillars in the Nigeria Professional Football League on Sunday.
Chris Madaki cancelled out Ndifreke Effiong’s curtain raiser, but the Coach has claimed that his men deserved more from the match.
“The result was what we really deserved against a good team,” he told Sports247.ng.
“My team were phenomenal. We played really well and had the ability to win.
“I’m so proud of my side. If we keep playing like this then we’ll be fine,” the former Abia Warriors and FC Ifeanyi Ubah boss enthused.
