Abia Warriors winger Chigozirim Metu claims he and his teammates have a ‘good feeling’ about the four-week-old Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Metu revealed he has found it easy to settle in at the club after making his debut against Kada City at midweek.
“We are getting ourselves into shape physically and are gradually getting better, but it has been very easy to settle into this dressing room,” Metu told Sports247.ng.
“My new teammates have been fantastic and have made it easy, not just for me but for all the new players, so we are all in this together and it is very important for us to win and prepare well.
“We have a good feeling about the ongoing season. Abia Warriors worked hard last year in the NPFL and they will do the same this year.
“There are players here with a lot of quality who will bring something significant to the team. We only need to concentrate on doing our own thing and doing it as well as possible.”
Despite Warriors possessing skillful wingers, Metu says he does not feel as though his place in the side is guaranteed.
“It is the boss who ultimately decides, but I will try to make it as difficult possible for him,” he concluded.
Abia Warriors will face Gombe United in the NPFL week five on Sunday.
